Searching for sandalwood beads, do you ever come across items with names such as Red Sandalwood, Green Sandalwood, White Sandalwood and even Black Sandalwood? I know I do. And it bugs me! Because what exactly are these wood beads/items made of?

Hi Jayakumar, as the article makes clear, you really can’t tell what is real Santalum album without 1) running a DNA test, or 2) purchasing from a reputable supplier that has first hand knowledge about the sourcing of the wood. Smell alone is not a reliable indicator. The Sandalwood beads we sell are sourced from government run auctions, and we have had years of selling with completely satisfied customers. Give our Sandalwood a try; if you are not completely happy, you can return for a full refund (nobody ever has!)
