Neem beads are made from wood of the Neem tree (Azadirachta indica) and very common in India.  Most parts of the tree are credited with medicinal and spiritual value.  It looks very similar to Tulsi but less expensive, and is often used to make chanting malas for spiritual seekers just beginning their journey.

The white colored wood is hard and very durable.
