Jaggery is a traditional non-centrifugal cane sugar;a concentrated product of cane juice and often date or palm sap without separation of the molasses and crystals, and can vary from golden brown to dark brown in color.
Every 10 g of jaggery contains 16 mg of the minerals which means that its one-time consumption during the day will fulfil 4% of the daily minerals requirement of our bodies.
SEASONAL - Available during the cooler, winter months. Ayurveda recommend using this sweetener during the cold month as it considered warming. (Dhaga mishri is used during the summer months as it is considered cooling.)
